Wampflen 30
Look at the ground: an old millstone in the paving indicates the house’s original function.
Old mill, formerly with a bakehouse. Built in 1740 for Stäffen Agenstein and Verena Willen. The inscription reads "Built in 1740, when the harsh winter only ended in the hay-making month", shedding an interesting light on the history of the local climate. An old millstone in the paving between the residential house and the barn indicates the house’s original function.
Next door is a two-rooms-wide farmhouse (Wampflen 17) dating from 1784 with remarkable friezes. The façade was probably symmetrical at one time.
